Hello folks, it's your friendly neighbourhood Government Man that you like to Dam. Or to put it another way, it's me Gmandam.
It's been a turbulent couple of days, so I figured it might worth while sitting down and having a little chat about the future and the past. What that might amount to in any case.
Right, as some of you may or may not know I, formally though not publicly, stepped down due to up coming real life commitments. Officially, I stopped being a staff member some time around the middle to late last year with regards to active content posting and community interaction.
The Past
I am not one for drama. Events happened and by and large the content producers of the site are likely to move on. If HTL is lucky it will last for a good while yet and I wish the site all the luck in the world for that. If you are in the know as to why this happened, then I need not explain. If you don't know why I am currently posting on this new forum, then I ask you to respect HTL enough not to ask as it will only cause increased drama and annoyance.
The Future
Attached is a PDF from our resident Black Dragon, Vernon Tuitt III. I will attempt to provide a brief summary of what is going to occur in the future. Part of the split between HTL and the content producers was due to a split in how to approach content.
In any case, the creative difference has led to us looking to create a new site dedicated to producing content regarding Movies, TV, Anime, Books, Video Games, Card Games (A lot of us actually quite like Magic: The Gathering) with a variety of different opinions.
The content is likely to take multiple forms ranging from the written word, to twitch streaming to edited video content. Hopefully, taking lessons learnt we'll be able to grow a crowd to watch and enjoy this content together. Of course, this wouldn't be the same if we didn't have some way of discussing the content (both ours and that of what other people produce elsewhere) so eventually after we've developed a more cohesive plan we'll look to a less makeshift bandaid regarding keeping the community together.
The Present
That's more or less it folks, we're looking to continue on producing content because we enjoy producing content and we enjoy sharing it with you. It's not as grand as where we started out 2 years ago but we've learnt as a group that perhaps it's better to walk before you run and crawl before you can walk.
Hopefully, very soon (TM), we will see further progress on our attempts to design something new.
Stay Strong Folks
