The biggest french media published their reviews and they're not good at all. Even the biggest financial one (Le Monde Financier) describe the game as a mean for EA to please shareholders and to maximise profit, EA opened the Origin's access just before the launch of the game, keeping all informations about it to make people suscribe, the more subscription, the more will forget their 5$ subscription next month, the better. They think the IP is "minor" for EA because of three things. First, when you see the sold number of Fifa17 physical units in its first week, it beat ME2's lifetime one, even Battlefield Hardline, the worst of all, beat ME2 to the ground.
Two, the cost-benefit ratio is simply ridiculous compared to other IP EA own. The writing and voice acting is way too heavy compared to any other EA game.
Three, the production cycle is far too long compared, again, to any other EA game.
Combine these factors and you'll see why EA don't give a sh.t about Bioware. They're just milking them. They buyed Bioware to upgrade their reputation and, after ME2, Bioware failed each time and the more they were trying, the worse it was. But MEA will be a financial success, the Origin access and the simple fact (exposed by the technical guy of Le Monde Financier) that Bioware lied on several aspect on the game.
It didn't cost 40 millions and 5 years of work, it's not possible or Bioware is just incompetent. They said several times "all people working on DAI are now on MEA". It's impossible because the game is a mess and you can't have this kind of game when more than 250 people are working on it (more than TW3 and for a longer time).
A third guy advance another thing about it: something is rotten in Bioware. Their Lead Animator was a woman just out of school with only one single movie she made "i Hate Men". Manveer Heir was mentionned and, of course, the "GTA Rape" woman. For him, Bioware didn't choose to support this kind of behavior but don't had the choice because ALL their talented people leaved and they had to recruit. They have perhaps big difficulties to recruit good people because of their reputation. Or, more simple, all talented ones are now working on their Destiny's clone and they filled the holes with what they found.
It was a good read.
