Am I excited about this game? No, not at all. Do I think it will be particularly good? I've got good reason to doubt it. But for the time being, I'm willing to wait and see, at least.
And who knows? Maybe it will be good for Bioware to put some distance between themselves and their recent work. I still won't be joining them, but hey, good for them.
But I would like to offer a respectful counterpoint. One of the things I have said about BioWare for the last two years is if they just came out and had a honest and sincere conversation with fans about their games we can move on and at least look forward to their games. At E3 we did get some game play of DA:I, but a lot of the video at the EA press conference was just a lot of buzz words and poorly lit offices and with this "new" title its pretty much amounts to nothing. BioWare has a trust issue and I think that teaser trailers like this, well it did more harm than good.
I am all for trailers for video games. I just watched the Halo 2: AE trailer and I am stoked for it, but when your studio has lost a lot of gamer goodwill over the last two years. It is my opinion that you do not speak to them until you have a enough to show them that will wow them.
Case in point, Alien: Isolation.
