Well, nothing about Dragon Age is original, really.
At its heart, it's your basic heroic, Tolkien-esque high fantasy involving a struggle of good versus evil. But that sort of fantasy isn't in style these days, so it was given a superficial layer of Game of Thrones-esque grim-and-grittiness...right down to the word "sir" being spelt "ser." Then, joined at the side, is Warhammer 40,000, as JBPBRC pointed out.
Now a lot of fictional worlds blend together multiple influences (see Star Wars), but Dragon Age does it so clumsily and so blatantly you can almost see the joints between the disparate elements.
That said, here are my BS predictions for the game:
Hawke and the Warden will not appear in the game: Should be obvious, really. DA:I runs on a different engine, and it does not strike me as being feasible for BioWare to make either Hawke or the Warden appear as the player created them in the first two games. Laidlaw stated that playing as the Inquisitor "does not mean your old character may never appear in future games," but I considering this a meaningless, empty promise. They've stated that the Warden's story is "over," and it is entirely possible that Hawke will end up getting killed off-screen, just so that the developers don't have to waste any effort continuing his story.
Flemeth will appear, and we will learn nothing new about her: She'll make an appearance, say something cryptic, perhaps act as a deus ex machina for our heroes, and then disappear, leaving LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE. I believe that no one at BioWare actually knows who or what Flemeth is. Instead, they just leave her nature and backstory unexplained, allowing her to display New Powers As The Plot Demands...and because BioWare writers have a massive boner for wild speculation amongst their fans.
The Inquisitor will be Morrigan's child: Forget the fact that only ten years or so have passed since the last game, I'm sure there's some ludicrous, hand-waving explanation they can come up with. And if you didn't do the Dark Ritual? Well...uh...Morrigan found some other Grey Warden to plough. Yes, that's it!
Cassandra, Sera and Vivienne will be the two love interests for a male Inquisitor: Since BioWare always goes for the "Betty and Veronica" pair of love interests, I predict that, given what we know about her, Vivienne will be the Veronica (dangerous, haughty, stuck-up, bitchy, etc.), leaving Sera to be the Betty (kind, compassionate, naive, etc.).
Now, some BioWare games give your character three possible female love interests. In this case, the third woman is always a tough, non-nonsense hardass of some sort. In Baldur's Gate, Jaheira was the hardass between Aeria and Viconia. In the Mass Effect games, Ashley was the hardass between Tali, Jack, and Liara. Aveline was the hardass between Merrill and Isabela, even though she wasn't an available love interest. It should be obvious, from what we've seen, that Cassandra is the hardass between Sera and Vivienne.
Solas and Varric will be love interests for a female Inquisitor: Male love interests in BioWare games always fall into the "Nice Guy VS Troubled But Cute" categories. Varric is clearly the "Nice Guy" of the two, leaving Solas to be the "troubled but cute" one.
The love scenes will feature actual nudity: Because, hey, The Witcher featured boobs! And ass! Cue some BioWare dev hammering on the table, declaring, "GENTLEMEN, WE CANNOT ALLOW A BOOB AND ASS GAP!"
