Eh, Scarecrow's done some crazy things in the Arkham games already. Like a giant spinning version of himself with flashlight eyes and making Batman hallucinate and see his zombie parents blaming him for their deaths.
How would the split personality thing work, though? I could understand if we haven't seen in the trailers that they actually interact with one another. What if it were a twist where it was one of the Bat Family? Perhaps Nightwing or even Tim Drake? I'm just throwing out another theory since I can't wrap my head about the hallucination angle. The 'it's not real' angle rubs me the wrong way.
Hallucination caused by fear toxin, or some kind of "mental battle" for face-to-face scenarios. Things like organizing forces and tanks could all be handled in the real world. I had considered Jason Todd, but since they've said it would be someone new I discarded that option. Plus I really don't see Nightwing or Robin (who saved Batman recently in the Harley Quinn DLC) suddenly switching against him.
Its all just a theory though. I still like my idea better than some of the "The Knight is Resurrected Joker" theories though.
