i didn't buyed it and played a little.
It's not amazing, it's not a total pack of sh.t. It's an average game at best attacked frome everywhere, with good reasons sometimes and not so good others. The game is metabombed
In first, from a technical point of view, the game is a mess. Just before the launch, the EA CEO said he asked the Bioware leader if the game should be delayed and the answer was no. Launching the game in this state was a bioware's decision (or EA just cover themselves).
And tensions appear to have been very high between the studios, the animations were great during the E3 2016, they were made in montreal and implemented in Edmonton. Something went wrong during 2016 and the game was downgraded a loooot (lightning, shaders, textures. Everything in fact). Between Edmonton and Montreal 19 team leader resigned or were fired just between the E3 and the launch, just for MEA. The day one patch made female characters more ugly, imo it's a bug but some are using this as an argument to put oil on fire.
Imo, i think the Manveer Heir problem didn't helped and EA had to intervene to stop him since Bioware leader did nothing. He was discreetly fired (or pushed to the exit) the launch day but others are doing the same things in their ranks.
And don't forget the "old BSN fanbase" which was destroyed during the ME3 fiasco, i think lot of people are now bashing them because of the way they handled it.
What hurt them the most is a simple fact: their product is just outmatched by all other products in the same category, they are abyssal compared to TW3.
To finish, they lied again. At the E3 people were worried about the animations, they said everything would fixed at launch, it's not. They said they took inspiration from TW3 for the sidequest and living world, they lied too, MEA is DAI in space. And so on.
They could have make a good game. They failed.
It's average at best, nothing more nothing less.
