Kristin and Zachary make no effort to hide their love of all things nerdy, including each other. So when they decided to tie the knot, they were determined to let their geek flag fly.
And fly it does, like Harry Potter's Nimbus 2000 strapped to an X-Wing.
Let's start with the invitations. Eschewing the traditional lace and floral designs, the couple opted for old-school NES cartridge style invites, complete with Mystery box cards for RSVPs.
The bride's gown was traditional, but her footwear was inspired by Mass Effect, while the groom chose Doctor Who-themed shoes with a Tardis embroidered on the back.
The guest book? It was a waterjet-cut aluminum reproduction of the Millennium Falcon. Had the Falcon not worked (it’s a hunk of junk, after all), the shop that carved it for them also readied plans for an AT-AT as a backup.
A Katana-wielding ninja interrupted the ceremony, though we're guessing the groom was okay with that, since the cake topper was a ninja gazing into the eyes of the bride.
It gets even geekier. The cake looks like it’s made of Lego. The card box? Another Tardis. Guests cooled off with the signature drink: butterbeer. A collection of 8-bit Nintendo characters served as table numbers, Dobby and Yoda statues decorated the reception hall, and above it all hung a priceless quote from The Princess Bride: "Mawage is wot bwings us togever tooday."
To top it all off, Kristin and Zachary started their new life together after the official pronouncement of man and wife with a kiss as the minister held an ‘Achievement Unlocked’ sign above them reading "25G – Paramour."
May they live long and prosper! Hey wait...no Star Trek references in their wedding? What a sham!
